Race Categories & Rule
The Peninsular Divide is an ultra-endurance bikepacking race that challenges riders with one of the toughest routes in Asia. Participants can compete in one of the following three categories:
1. Solo Category
The ultimate test of endurance, resilience, and self-sufficiency. Riders in this category must complete the entire course alone, without external support.
Rules:
- No Drafting: Riders must maintain self-sufficiency and cannot draft behind other participants.
- No Outside Support: Riders must carry their own gear and arrange for food, water, and accommodation independently. Only publicly available services are allowed.
- Live Tracking: Participants must use the provided GPS tracker at all times.
- Completion Time: Official finishers must complete the course within the designated race window.
2. Pair Category
For those who want to take on the challenge as a team. Pairs must ride together throughout the race, supporting each other along the way.
Rules:
- Always Together: Teammates must ride within 100 meters of each other at all times. Any separation beyond this limit may result in penalties.
- No External Support: Just like the solo category, pairs must rely only on publicly available services.
- Shared Responsibility: Both riders must carry their own essential gear, though sharing resources such as food, water, and tools is allowed.
- Live Tracking: Each pair will have one GPS tracker to be carried at all times.
3. Relay Category (New!)
A team-based challenge where three riders take turns to complete different segments of the course. Each rider must complete at least one full segment between designated checkpoints before handing over to the next teammate.
Rules:
- Team Composition: Each team consists of exactly 3 riders.
- Segment Transitions: Riders must switch only at official checkpoints.
- One Rider on Course: Only one team member is allowed to be on the race route at any given time.
- Team Vehicle Restrictions:
- Team vehicles are not allowed on the race route.
- A separate alternative route will be provided for team vehicles.
- Live Tracking:
- The team vehicle will carry the GPS tracker, which must be active at all times.
